Making Waves

The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind of activity on the Billy Palmer campaign. Between door-to-door canvassing, tabling at community events, distributing lawn signs, and meeting with community leaders, Billy has been working hard to win the support of every voter in our community.

In addition to his regular campaign schedule, Billy’s calendar has been packed the past couple weeks. Here’s some highlights:

  • As event sponsors, we tabled at the Friendly Islands Tongan Festival.

  • To debut our campaign shirts, we held a kickoff event overlooking the old Raging Waters park.

  • Billy attended a ceremonial dinner to unveil a mural commissioned by Patagonia that features Billy Palmer among other Black leaders in our community.

  • Billy supported Project Rainbow’s Big Gay BBQ, which was held at Jordan Park.

  • Some friends held a fundraiser for Billy.

Billy also attended three youth-focused events this past week: Billy attended the graduation ceremony for SLC’s Promising Youth Project, visited with parents at the SLC School District’s Back-to-School Fair, and tabled at Park Jam, a youth concert in Jordan Park.

To Billy, these events are more than photo ops. Yes, we take photos at events, but Billy invests time at these events so he can have meaningful conversations with our Westside neighbors. That’s how Billy builds relationships that matter. It’s how he knows what our Westside neighborhoods want from our city government. And it’s how Billy will best represent our Westside on the City Council.

While we’re talking to voters at the door, spending time with neighbors at community events, or supporting diverse communities across the Westside, Billy Palmer is the candidate making waves in this campaign.
